Through the 12 part series, Aaj Tak will also attempt to offer a solution in the form of suggestions from people in every episode of HAR HAR GANGAY.

The series travels to Gomukh to the origin of the river. It is an 18 kilometer trek to 13200 feet. It starts from Gangotri and goes up to the Gomukh Glacier. The series will have exclusive, never seen before visuals.
In the second episode, Aaj Tak covers Gangotri which is the historical origin of Ganga. There after the episodes will cover the cities of Allahabad, Bhagalpur, Farakka , Gangasagar , Haridwar, Kanpur, Patna, Rishikesh , Tehri, Uttarkashi, and culminates in Varanasi.

In the course of the shoot, the series captures the several big names that have been associated with saving the Ganga. 87 year old environmentalist, Sunderlal Bahuguna, Swami Ramdev, Swami Chidanand Saraswati of the Ganga Action Parivar are some of the personalities covered in the episodes. Aaj Tak is also planning to interview Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharati.

Hinduism’s most sacred river Ganga is the backbone of agriculture and many lives with economies are dependent on it. But rapid increase in pollution of the river by the industrial waste and plastics littered by humans is destroying the divinity of the river.
