Politicians, Bollywood stars thronged to Samruddha Jeevan Foundation’s nationwide Blood Donation Drive

The nationwide mega blood donation campaign organized by ‘Samruddha Jeevan Foundation’ today turned out to be a huge success with lakhs of donors including politicians, Bollywood and sports celebrities attended and donated generously. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad who attended the blood donation camp at Press Club of India, New Delhi lauded the efforts of Samruddha Jeevan CMD Dr. Mahesh Motewar for his initiative towards the cause of the society. Prasad said that media houses should come up more regularly with such initiatives as it helps in educating and helping the society. “Samruddha Jeevan Foundation has taken up a righteous cause. This initiative of organizing blood donation camps every year is commendable. I heartily congratulate the foundation and wish them lucks in all future endeavors”, said Prasad. Union Minister Uma Bharti also participated in the camp and congratulated Samruddha Jeevan Foundation and Live India for organizing and working towards a noble cause.

Senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh attended the Blood Donation Camp at Noida centre and was visibly impressed with this massive programme. He said that schools should include chapters related to ‘blood donation’ in their curriculum so that myths related to it can be eliminated and facts be prevailed. Others who attended the camp included union Minister Jual Oram, Senior SP leader and UP Minister Shivpal Yadav, AAP leaders Ashutosh, Manish Sisodia, Shazia Ilmi, Member of Parliament Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Arun Kumar, Ali Anwar, BJP leader Vijay Sonekar Congress leader and former union Minister Salman Khurshid, Shakeel Ahmed, Suresh Kalmadi.

Bollywood actors Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza, Vivek Oberoy, Neil Nitin Mukesh sports person Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore remained attractions of eyes at the blood donation centers. Shilpa who attended the camp at Noida center made a clarion call to youths to come forward and donate blood.

Samruddha Jeevan CMD, Dr. Mahesh Motewar after inaugurating the blood donation camp said that the ‘Foundation’ organizes nationwide blood donation camp every year and it is good to see the mounting response towards the cause of the society. This year the success of the campaign turned out to be implausible. We are grateful to the people who became a part of this noble act” Dr. Motewar observed.

Lakhs of people attended the blood donation camps organized at 350 location of 21 states in the country and donated generously. In Delhi and NCR alone more than 2000 units of blood collected during the dawn to dusk mega drive while the national figure goes in tens of thousands.

Samruddha Jeevan Foundation had organized the blood donation camps with Live India and Mi-Maarthi news channels and Prajatantra Live news Paper as media partners. Political leaders, Bollywood celebrities and social activists from different parts of India provided their unmitigated support to the cause. Chief Ministers of 21 states, Ministry of Health, Govt. of India, Red Cross Society, Delhi Medical Association and other medical associations of state Governments also extended their sumptuous support to this largest ever blood donation initiative.

A donor said, “I am happy that my blood will aid in saving someone’s life. I can feel the difference.”
Blood is an imperative unit of one’s body that cannot be contrived in any place. Multitude of proud donors who poured-in in large numbers in response to the mega drive are the real heroes. Samruddha Jeevan Foundation salutes such Heroes.
