Doordarshan signs an MOU with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for disseminating key health related schemes

New Delhi, 10.12.2015: Doordarshan and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India signed an MOU today to facilitate the telecast of Ministry related video spots on Doordarshan’s National and regional networks.

The MoU was signed by K.B. Agarwal, Additional Secretary, on behalf of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and C. Lalrosanga, Director General, Doordarshan at 11 am at Nirman Bhawan on 10.12.2015.
The spots produced and provided by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under this MOU, will aim at informing and educating the target group of audience about their sustained campaigns through terrestrial and satellite networks of Doordarshan. In accordance to the MOU, Ministry has placed business worth Rs. 50 crores and above.

In turn Doordarshan, the Public service broadcaster has offered a special bonus plan to the Ministry, thus contributing towards the government goal of Health for all.

This MoU was signed in the presence of B.P. Sharma, Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. On the occasion he said that this MoU would help Health Ministry to disseminate its programmes of health and special messages of prevention of health across the country in different languages through the vast network of Doordarshan which has the highest reach especially in rural areas.

C. Lalrosanga, Director General, Doordarshan said on the occasion that Doordarshan as a Public Service Broadcaster has the primary responsibility to help various Ministries and Government Departments to disseminate their schemes of social development to the needy and this is the primary reason that Doordarshan has extended special schemes to help the Ministry in reaching their target group.

N. S. Kang, Addl. Secretary; Ms. Dharitri Panda, Joint Secretary; Rakesh Kumar, Joint Secretary; Ms. Manisha Verma, Director from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Ranjan Mukherjee, Addl. Director General and C. K. Jain, Dy. Director General of Doordarshan were also present on the occasion.
